چکیده

In this paper, a system based on the generation of a Hidden Markov Model from the past GPS log and current location is presented to predict a user’s destination when beginning a new trip. This approach drastically reduces the number of points supplied by the GPS device and it permits a “support-map” to be generated in which the main characteristics of the trips for each user are taken into account. Hence, in contrast with other similar approaches, total independence from a streetmap database is achieved.

Future Locations Prediction with Uncertain Data

The ability to predict future movements for moving objects enables better decisions in terms of time, cost, and impact on the environment. Unfortunately, future location prediction is a challenging task. Existing works exploit techniques to predict a trip destination, but they are effective only when location data are precise (e.g., GPS data) and movements are observed over long periods of time...

A HMM-Based Location Prediction Framework with Location Recognizer Combining k-Nearest Neighbor and Multiple Decision Trees

Knowing user’s current or next location is very important task for context-aware services in mobile environment. Many researchers have tried to predict user location using their own methods. However, they focused mainly the performance of method, and only few were considered development of real working system on mobile devices. In this paper, we present a location prediction framework, and deve...

Accessibility and non-work destination choice: A microscopic analysis of GPS travel data

The advancements of GPS and GIS technologies provide new opportunities for investigating vehicle trip generation and destination choice at the microscopic level. This research models how land use and road network structure influence non-work, non-home vehicle trip generation and non-work destination choice in the context of trip chains, using the in-vehicle GPS travel data in the Minneapolis-St...
